About Make A Splash

Make A Splash Swim School is a friendly family run business set-up to enable all people, of any age or ability to learn swimming. We believe that learning to swim is an essential skill that everyone should enjoy. We aim to enthuse and inspire the swimmers of the future within a safe and structured learning environment.

Suzie is the lead teacher, who has a competitive swimming background. She is passionate about aquatics and empowering people with the ability to swim. In her youth, Suzie was selected at a very young age to join a prestigious Synchronised Swimming Club. She aims to pass on her passion for the water to everyone that she teaches by using creative teaching techniques, encouraging swimmers to have sound water confidence. Suzie holds coaching and teaching qualifications from the ASA and STA and is completing a Birthlight Diploma in Antenatal Aqua Yoga. She is a fully qualified RLSS Lifeguard and Rookie Lifeguard Instructor.

Barbara is a Primary School teacher with expertise and vast experience in the early years, having taught the Nursery/ Reception age group for the last ten years. She has an established involvement in education, also having experience in teaching older children and adults. Her enthusiasm for educating children is second to none and she is an invaluable source of inspiration and information for everyone at Make A Splash. Barbara is a former voluntary Synchronised Swimming coach and examiner of grades one and two. She is qualified through the ASA.

Charlie is a fully qualified STA Swimming Teacher with 15 years experience. She became a swimming teacher because she wants to make a difference to people’s lives by teaching them skills that will remain in their lives forever. Charlie is extremely committed to swimming and is a Nars Teacher/ Examiner of Lifeguarding and also a Teacher/ Examiner of First Aid.

Sharon works in an administrative role for Make A Splash and as an assistant. At present she is taking a gap year and gaining experience in social work before entering university. Sharon is a keen swimmer and advocate of Aquacise. She is enthusiastic about acquiring different skills and is studying towards a NVQ in Children’s Learning and Development with placements in a primary school and hospital.

All of us at Make A Splash are concerned about children’s welfare and are committed to the environment. As a result, we are all fully CRB checked and made sure that our printed uniforms are made from 100% organic cotton.
